Am not the tallest of people and I like a small cockpit... I'm used to 40mm so I'd like to stick to a stem with 40mm reach.

hey dude, I saw your post in the SC V10 thread. With the old school v10s you have to run the floating brake. when I snapped the arm for the floating brake on my 2004 v10 I got in touch with SC UK and they told me that the Old V10s were designed around the concept of the floating brake so basically... if you want a rear brake you have to run it. You could try getting in touch with SC USA and see if they know anything differnt though.
